Yaya Toure left out of Champions League squad
Whilst everyone is talking about Jose Mourinho’s treatment of Bastian Schweinsteiger at Manchester United, Yaya Toure is getting very similar treatment under his new manager Pep Guardiola.
It was today revealed that the Ivorian midfielder was left out the Manchester City squad for their Champions League qualifier against Steaua Bucharest on Tuesday.
This comes after the 33-year-old was omitted from the opening day Premier League win over Sunderland. Guardiola sold Toure to Manchester City during his time in Barcelona.
Six years of service
Perhaps not quite the model professional like Bastian Schweinsteiger, Yaya Toure has given six years of service to Manchester City and has played a major role in the club’s recent success.
It seems he is not in Pep Guardiola’s plans and his agent will have to find a new club by the end of the transfer window if the veteran midfielder still wants first team football.
If Yaya Toure got upset about the club forgetting his birthday, just imagine how he’ll be feeling right now.
